A Junior C lacrosse team is coming to Peterborough.
The announcement, made Wednesday, will see the second-year league expand to eight teams. Along with Peterborough, Kingston and Clarington were also awarded franchises.
The team will consist of players between the ages 17 to 21 and will be affiliated with the Junior A Lakers.
The team, which will be called the Lakers, will act as a feeder system for the Junio A squad as players transition from minor to junior lacrosse.
The Junior C league will play a 16-game season with a three-round playoff battle to determine the Ontario champion.
